Does anyone participate in this site?

It looks pretty interesting. They have a screening process for uploads and for selling prints you control everything yourself. The site just puts the buyer in contact with you.

The link to my enormous portfolio (only 1 image so far) is in my signature.

My new goal is to choose / take / submit a worthy image (have already uploaded two more; keep those fingers crossed for me?)

These were rejected. Tough crowd but it makes you more critical of your work.

Two submitted, one accepted and one in queue. Hopefully I'll stay at 100% for awhile. The one is queue has passed the first screening.

Which one is yours? My shot, titled "Navajo Spirit" has been sitting at the top of the photographer's choice page all day. I am deeply flattered.

Thanks Jeff and good luck with your submissions. I do like the premise of the site. Only submitting the best of the best that you shoot really makes me step back and look hard at what I have shot. Looking through some of the published images sure reminds me that I am submitting to a group that is well above my skill level. Still, I like competition!

Mine is "In Fear", they took it down about 30mins ago though and replaced with something else.. I doubt very much I will get alot of photos up on that site as most of my shots are Children and Families....But for the odd unusual shoot I do, I'll upload them on there for sure!

::whew::

managed to get one in with my 3rd attempt; definitely makes you think before submitting!

eric, I doubt they are above your skill level - just that there is a different mindset there... notice how most of the images are very minimal? KISS seems to be the rule over there. well, that and 'dark' (not many light-hearted ones to find)

miss 'becca - congrats on your acceptance! (felt like i held my breath all day yesterday, waiting for a response; how bout you?)

Is it just me who fails to see the interest in getting a picture published on a rather unknown website ?
I mean, what's in it for the photographer ?
At least here one can win a virtual ribbon.

But it's such a pretty website :) With such amazing photos.
It's the challenge of it. And makes about as much sense as competing for a virtual ribbon does, if I'm not mistaken :)

Exactly my thoughts, they have a different mind set. Many of the images are simple composition with vibrant colors. WOW factor sells.

I thought I'd give it a go, but I am having trouble even uploading anything, never mind having anything accepted.
09/16/2007 03:10:19 PM · #19
Woo they accepted my tunnels pic :D
09/16/2007 03:26:27 PM · #20
They accepted both of my uploads....

uploaded one that most likely be rejected. I think this site is good for free study shots, that you could not enter here in free study.

I've got a fireworks shot in.
