I have a lot of fun designing interesting ads for this gallery. I have some of my work at this place and the owners and I have become good friends. We were just screwing around with this frame, holding it up and taking shots, and we got the idea to get down and then let the frame go and snap the shot. Though somewhat less than attractive, the area where the gallery is has a certain earthy reality to it, so we played around with this concept.

So fire away with your thoughts.......this is just one idea we had. We had actually thought that perhaps some lovely scenery from the greater surrounding area would be better, but this *IS* the sidewalk, and view, right outside the gallery.

I quite like the fact that its just the sidewalk, art from nothing and all that.

The text could do with being tidied up a bit, it's a little confusing, and the font color isn't to my tastes, but its a great picture and idea.

I would change the text colour - that cyan does not work for me. You could also take the frame to a more scenic location and take a similar shot.

I really don't have any special attachment to that strange blue myself, but I had a heck of a time coming up with a color that would work going across the various shades and textures that would stand out.

I'd like to, and will, take that frame and go hunting in the spring when things start to bloom and all (I see a "Wanderin Frame" series in my future!), but as this scene is right outside the framing shop/gallery, we're going to run this scene first.

Photos great. Text placement is rather pedestrian. Seperate the hour of the store from the website and address. Use a drop shadow or stroke with that font to have it stand out a bit more. Personally, Id make the framed area smaller to give me more options with the text. Maybe pick a different scene where two frames could be used. Just my humble opinion....

Apart from the font/color issues, I don't like the fact that the frame is out of focus. After all, it is the framing you're trying to advertise, not the sidewalk!

I would make sure to have the frame and everything in it in focus, then blur everything outside of the frame to make the "picture" stand out.

I don't like the font color..perhaps some fX would help it (shadow, embossing..something).
The most important thing is your name! It runs together down the left side - i find it hard to read and almost didn't really see it (as in ignore it).
Perhaps consider making the image outside the frame on all side OOF, and just inside the frame in focus.

overall I like the concept.

maybe try standing across the street and have the frame frame the framing store. I would try to have the frame in focus too. Maybe darken the part outside the frame to make waht is in the frame stick out more too. I think framing the business would help customers have something to identify with more too.
