A couple of questions, those that have participate, anyone thought about yanking their entry?
How many are just blowing off this score and not allowing it to bug them? |

Im taking it with a grain of salt as usual, I liked mine so I entered it and if just one other person thinks its cool then Im happy :) but for the most part Ive gone back to shooting what I like and not what I think the general populous mite like.

Yikes. I wonder if we are going to have a ribbon winner who scores lower than 5.5?
As an aside I've voted on 294 images so far and I've given out 40 scores of 8 or higher. I'm not sure how that compares to my usual voting pattern but I am pretty sure its higher than normal. Unfortunately I've been giving out a lot of sub -5 scores as well.

You can't allow the scores to bug you. You'd end up carrying that feeling into other challenges. Just roll with it and share the love with the others who have a low score.
I knew going in the reasons why this would not be well received and my one commenter was spot on. BUT - I put the photo in anyway because in my own weird sense of perspective, it does meet the challenge :P

Oh I did hit a high of 5.33 today and it's been downhill ever since.

I've started commenting a bit. Just typing out the emotional gut feeling I get when I look at the photo. More of a chatty observation than any serious con crit. Don't think anything else works really for this challenge.
I'm well aware that everyones milage will be different so my reaction is just one datapoint. |

Nah: it's getting a bunch of DNMC comments cos it isn't blurry enough, abstract enough (go figure... didn't know it was supposed to be ABSTRACT!!) or messy enough....
Nothing's has changed... still at 3.5: never in a challenge have I received close on 100 votes on the first day of voting??? People seem impassioned about this one hey!? 4 comments too - all telling me how I DNMC.

At 92 votes...I do not have a single comment. Only one other time has this happened to me and my photo was the only photo in the whole challenge that did not receive a comment during voting (thank goodness!!!)...and my cat didn't speak to me for a week in that challenge! (I've redeemed myself recently in his eye though).
Is anyone else comment-less?

I've found myself voting more viscerally on this one - there are some that I couldn't tell you the difference (might even describe similarly), but one just grabs me and another doesn't. I also have made a difference (in my mind anyway) between blur and just not in focus. I don't expect others to, but it seems a valid way to distinguish between some.
There are several so far that are dnmc to me (not even out of focus). Wazzup w/ that? |
