I would like to participate... I don't understand how any of it's going to work, but I don't NEED to either.. :-) I trust all will be dealt with by the experts..
So, sign me up from the United States.. If the country still matters..

Can I stick my name down for Team UK again :-)

Then to be honest I don't like the draft thing. I do not think it would be fair to anyone invovled as only favorites would be picked.

Unless it was a blind draw, then I think we should stick to what we have??

Sounds good to me....I'll join Vlado on the Australian Team, please.

Any type of draft, blind draw, ranking system, etc., would get rid of the nationality element. An olympics without some tie to the team country (or group of countries, eg. tropical islands) would be just another generic tournament, and would not fit in with the spirit of the real olympics going on at the same time.

.

How do you figure?? If I picked first and I said I wanted larus and you picked scalvert the second go round you would pick someone that isn't so skilled and so would I.

You take turns in a draft so everyone would pick at least someone good. Do you not understand how it works??? It's like picking for fantasy baseball.

Can someone help me explain this please???

No I understand what you are saying Dirt, I just don't like it. I do not want anyone to think that they got picked last or they didn't get picked becuase they werent good enough for the team.

We will stay the way we are with the Teams as of right now, the scoring however is in your hands

Well I will do the scoring and you do it how you want too, just let me know. I think that teams will be stacked as they are now and I just don't see it being a fair comp.

I'm out...

chill dude, have some whipped cream!!!

You do the scoring how you said you wanted to do it with the 10.83 so that there wouldnt be any stacked teams.

the only thing that is staying the same is there is no picking of members for teams.

Don't mean to stir the pot, but I kind of like the idea of a draft.

But even if it doesn't end up that way, I'd still like to be in.

Juliet,
I agree with you about not doing the draft, it would be like when we were back in school and the geeky guy always got picked last... or worse, if the teams are full they wouldn't get picked at all. Just my opinion of course :)
04/08/2008 08:10:53 PM · #73
NEW RULE

The Teams are only allowed 1 Ribbon Holder per Team.

But at least that geeky guy would have some good people on his team.
