I've been trying to figure out what all these teams were about and that let me to the DPL - but that seems inactive, if not completely dead. Then there's the Olympics which I'm thinking might be the actual DPL 2 just under a different name - or do they have nothing in common but using teams? I've been reading every faq and long gone threads I could find that might explain it all, but I haven't been very successful on that part - I'm still dumbfounded about all this...
And the DPC overhaul that Langdon talked about has that taken place or are we still waiting for that? I haven't been around for long so I don't really have anything to compare it with.
And basicly, are all the teams here involved in the Olympics and - since it has already started - is there any way to participate or should I just wait till something new comes up?

DPL and DPL2 are completely seperate from the Olympics. The DPC Olympics is just a side challenge that users put together themselves. There's also a Battle of the Ages going on which again, is a side challenge that uses set up. Basically the way they work is you set up teams (hence Team USA in the Olympic side challenge, all the members are from the USA) and each team member enters into challenges and the team average will determine how many points said team scores.
There's lots of side challenges going on, alot of them aren't competitive, highly recommend them if the actual challenges are intimidating and you just want to get your feet wet. Right now there's a black and white per week for 2008 (just like the title says, you share a black and white every week and comment on everyones and they coment on yours), theres a month at ##mm (shoot an entire months with a prime)...that sort of thing. |

I hadn't quite grasped that the Olympics was a user made challenge. By the way, how does the team's average get calculated - by the team or those who made the original thread perhaps?
But I understand that I just gotta keep my eyes open and find the challenges that arise (or that already exist but that I haven't found yet). |

| Every month there are a couple of "side challenges" that are created by users. They are not voted on, but give us a chance to show off our new stuff, gain comments and meet new people. They are alot of fun and open to everyone. |

| usually averages are calculated by a member who has volunteered. its nothing official. |
