Does anyone have recommendations for good online and/or downloadable tutorials for Photoshop CS3/CS4 and Lightroom 2?

Free would be nice but paying for something "good" is acceptable.

My desire is to become proficient with these two very new products as quickly as possible. I've never used Lightroom before and I upgraded from Photoshop CS2 to CS4 Extended. I've purchased and properly installed both products on a shiny new computer and even properly hardware calibrated it's monitor. I'm ready to go.

I'm VERY proficient with PS CS2 but right off the top I see the jump to CS4 is a true generational upgrade with huge changes. I am capable of learning it all on my own but I want to expedite the process with a few good tutorials.

I've started looking at the Adobe video tutorials but would really like a 3rd party source that puts a reality check on the new features and doesn't act as an Adobe advertisement. :)

Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nobody has any thoughts or ideas on CS4 and/or Lightroom 2 training...

With the purchase of PS CS4 I got a month's access to all the online training materials from a place called lynda.com and I am currently using that. But if anyone has any comments about their training or better suggestions I am all ears.

Well here is a short list of sites that I frequent.

psdtuts
pshero
Planet Photoshop
Layers Magazine

Lots of free goodies / links as well on the above sites, brushes, actions, etc...

Hope that helps!

There are a lot of Lightroom tutorials on the web and there are books on using LightRoom as well. A simple Google search will give you several days worth of tutorials.

Thank you all for your input. Here are a couple other excellent resources I found...

I checked out the free Adobe TV training that exists for both CS4 and Lightroom II and they are extensive and quite good:
Adobe TV Photoshop Tutorials
Adobe TV Lightroom Tutorials

A general introduction to Lightroom II by Julieanne Kost and Matt Kloskowski is found below. They are working photographers, top-notch trainers and know their their stuff backwards and forward:

My recommendation:

Adobe Photoshop CS4: Up to Speed

The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers

Ouch! Actual books? LOL!!! I guess if I get desperate I might actually buy one.

What I'd prefer is a Vulcan Mind Meld download of all this stuff directly into my head. ;) ;)

Much thanks to everyone for all your great suggestions. Right now I'm finding the free Adobe TV training videos for both Lightroom II and Photoshop CS4 to be incredibly good and very, very comprehensive... much better than the month's worth of free access I was given to the technical training web site - lynda.com.

I can vouch for the quality here:

Kelby Training

It's not free but it's well worth the money

I quite agree. Scott Kelby, Matt Kloskowski, and Dave Cross (The Photoshop Guys) as well as Julieanne Kost and many others are working photographers that are PS/LR gurus of the first order of magnitude. Anything they do is incredible. Fortunately, some of their stuff is available free. :)

Ironically enough, one of the "goodies" choices I had for registering my copy of PS CS4 was free access to all the training videos at lynda.com for 1 month. I selected lynda.com as my "goodie" and tried out the site.

I have to say that I think the free training videos for both Lightroom II and PS CS4 on the Adobe web site are better than the training materials at lynda.com.

So if anyone would like to try out www.lynda.com send me a PM...
I will tell you how to access most of their training materials. There are about 26 days or so left and I doubt I will use any of that time.
