We suffered a few hours of downtime on Sunday evening, through Monday morning due to hardware failure.

Submission deadlines ending on January 19th have been extended by one day. This includes submitting to the Personality Challenge.

Thanks Langdon...that would have been a nightmare! Does that mean we have an extra day to shoot, or do we still have the 18th deadline for pictures entered?

Might I also suggest, or request, that you please post this week's member challenge right away anyways, even though the last one has not finished because of the extension? It would be nice to still have the full week of knowing what to try and shoot for it. :)

thanks.

The deadline is still the 18th, I've updated the extra rules to remind users as much.

yes, it shows as a finished challenge with the score and placing, then when you click to view it you get a message that it is still in voting and opens up to allow you to vote on it...

not good.

I put in a ticket through the help section...

It gets worse, I have just fluked clicking on the current blue ribbon for the Life III challenge. Of course with 19 hours to go things may change. I am however keeping quiet as to who it is.

Life III entries should not long show up in profiles. I trust the handful that are online right now to not act on what they have seen. :)

As of this minute it now appears to be fixed...I hope.

mum is the word. I was not going to vote on that challenge anyways, and I definately will not now.

hmm... I think freezing the voting and declaring the winner for Life III would be the best course of action (or the votes as as the time of the outage anyway, seeing as it was so close to rollover anyway. I know I saw more than I should have, so I imagine many others did too.

I totally agree.

The trolls could have had a field day with that one.

Good idea. take the voting back to the downtime. It is not so much an issue for the voting on that challenge as it was for those trying to enter the personality challenge, so it is good to give the extra day for that.

I, for example saw what my competition is in the head to head side challenge. It won't change my vote (I gave her an 8), but just on principle, I think voting should be declared over.

Yay! Thanks Langdon!

I just saw my personality entry pop up for voting.

I got a "Calculating Results" page, my score was posted in my profile for Life and I keep getting "404" pages when I click on Forum posts.....

At 5:00 AM, 4 votes is a majority. Life III has been officially rolled over. Amending the announcement...
01/19/2009 05:11:34 AM · #22
Good work langdon, and I appreciate that you were trying to be helpful by trying to extend it. At least those trying to get their personality entry in can still do so. :)
01/19/2009 05:53:08 AM · #23
phew ... !!!
i found out that i'd won Life III because of this thread and that was before it had been frozen or rolled over ..
i considered posting here and seconding Lonni's idea but i didnt want any trolls to open my profile page and mark me down after seeing i'd got the blue ..
THANKS LANGDON .. :)
