I havent been here long enough or had a good camera long enough to have the "best" photo I have ever taken. Does it have to have exif data before now or can it be up until March 10th so I can try a "my best" picture between now and then?

Love it. I have a lot of digging to do.

AFAIK, any time before the submission deadline should be fine -- pictures from the future are ineligible. ;-)

However, personally I think the "spirit" of the game is to enter something from your "archive" whatever that may consist of.

Thank you. I did just read more on it and it said anything as long as it hasnt been entered in a previous challenge. I guess I have some work to do.

Can someone give me a tutorial on how to make a Kentucky sky have aurora lights? hahahah.

You'd need an Expert editing challenge for that ...

Someone has already submitted! Ha. 47 mins to pull out your best ever pic. That's impressive. I have to dig out my hard drives first and that could take 45 mins on it's own! I love organised people. Pity I'm not one of them.

Wow! How hard. I am so emotionally attached to some of my images that I have a hard time even trying to think of what my best truely is. Seperating the story from the image on some of these is going to be the true challenge. Good luck all.

Closed your eyes and entered the first one you clicked on?
Dartboard with file #'s?
Let your cat pick?

You're not far off! Actually I've had a shot ready to go since I joined the site waiting on an opportunity like this. Of course by tomorrow morning I'll be second guessing myself.

I don't have to dig through my files, I have 2 shots in mind right now and I'm leaning heavily towards one of them. 99% chance that will be the one I'll enter.

My problem is that I have shots I like, but I didn't record the processing steps!!! :)

No, the other one is better.

I know I have a few that I had wanted a challenge for, but didn't have one appropriate. This ought to be a really high scoring challenge and I'm expecting to see lot of creative stuff.

I have a photo, and I'm looking at the original's EXIF info, and for some reason, the f-stop and focal length are not there. But it appears on the photo taken before and after this shot. I've never edited this photo, just a copy. Does anyone know if that would disqualify the photo as being an "original"? I'm just not sure what EXIF info parts tell someone that I did not edit the original photo.

I'm afraid to submit a picture that I really love because I know that the voters are gonna ruin it for me...

Then, I would ask you to question yourself about whether or not you truly love the picture, or the reaction that you hope it will garner.

If a shot is something you truly like/love then what does it matter what the voters think. Sometimes it is fun to just share part of yourself, and to heck with the scores.

Is there a chance that you used a manual lens for this shot? If yes, there would not be any f-stop and focal length recorded. If no, you may want to submit it to the SC for varification of being an acceptable original.

I did not use a manual lens so I have no clue what I did here. I did send a file to the SC so I guess I will wait and see. Thanks!
