Did anyone send a note to  ErinM? She hasn't been around for over 2 months...this sort of SC is usually right up her ally. |

I did she's not up to it at the moment, she may join in later. If anyone needs inspiration have a look in her port she has some amazing overlay images |

Day 6
Had a blast with this one. Read some of the things I did in the comments, then try them yourself, or e-mail me if you don't understand.
I will try to continue posting one per day, but will have to spend less time due to some fundraisers I am doing for the remainder of the month. If you leave comments I will return them, but can't guarantee I will be able to hit everyone. I am learning a great deal from everybody, that is for sure.

Yes I invited Erin - I miss her work very much, but she's not available at the minute - let's hope sooner than later for her AND us - GRIN! |

This is an incredibly stimulating process. I think the amount of postings and comments definitely shows this to be something dp should perhaps have a few challenges on. It is fabulous, I only wish I could do more. All are marvelous. I think even having a side challenge of just creating textures could also be very interesting, and a learning experience for those of us who cannot afford premade software for textures and backgrounds.

I just want to say I agree with Juniemoon. It is such a pleasure and an inspiration being part of this side challenge. There are so many amazing works on these pages. It's great to see what comes out with the challenge limitations being removed. I also like the idea of creating textures--I'm sure we could all learn heaps from experimenting and sharing ideas.
I also want to say thanks to everyone for all the comments that have been made so far...they are so encouraging and constructive.
So glad I joined in on the fun!! |

The texture you see in the opening of the smoke stack is what the overlay image was all over. It was merged with difference.
  
Same technique but opacity at 52%.

When you're posting a message there are some small boxes on the top of the big white field. Click on the second to last, the one that has two small boxes inside, then enter just the six digit number associated with your photo.
For this photo it is the same 788972 number you have above. |
