Team Suck needs a new home! All these miles of dusty roads are leading towards icy roads and snow drifts, perhaps we should build a nice, big, shiny, white Igloo!!

...so I hit the refresh button and see that someone has favorited my Children's Toy entry (woo-hoo!), but my score has gone DOWN! (Huh??) Go to see who liked the pic and find that they've been a member for five years, have some awesome glass in their kit, never entered a challenge, and average votes given is a 2.6 something.

Now, I feel like Navin Johnson in "The Jerk", when the psycho-shooter picks his name out of the phone book.

Note to self...

"Stay away from the oil cans..."

On my comment on my shadow entry I was informed the reason my score is so low is because it has no wow factor. Good to know..

Hello teammates, I've recently uploaded a bunch of old shots to my portfolio here. Feel free to have a look and comment if you'd like :) It's greatly appreciated!

I hit a new low with my parallel lines shot I really liked this shot and new it wouldn't go over all that well with voters but I really didn't expect to finish next to last and pick up 30 votes at a 1. I think this shot had the most 1 votes out of any in this challenge.

Waahhh...my Fine Art entry got dq'ed...:-( Not going to dispute it, it was only at 4.8, but I still thought my editing steps were all legal under Advanced. And my Toys is sucking along at 4.5.

Nice pics, Andrew, I'll look at them and comment a bit later!

Okay......what is it that you're looking for with this report?

You got some stellar commenmts on it as well as some suggestions and a couple of glowing testimonials.

You got a critique from someone in the Critique Club who you also happened to reach with your image.

You've entered 19 challenges and cast over 4000 votes......cartainly nobody has to tell you that entry isn't remotely DPC friendly, do they?

You're gonna have to tell us what it is that you want.

Just a selfish plug Jeb :)

No I am just curious on your thoughts if I should continue entering with shots that I know will likely suffer even though I feel like they are good and think a few will appreciate them or enter some that are a bit more DPC friendly. I usually have a few options come entry time (like I do with the Branch challenge) and I usually have one that I feel will do better in scoring and one that I feel is more artistic but will score low. Just looking for some support to stay true to what I like and not be swayed to enter "pretty" shots. It can be disheartening to score so low even if it is a sucess with a small minority.

Don't get wrapped up in the score if that is an example of the work that really inspires you. It's a good shot, but somewhat inconsistent with the challenge theme. You did marry the parallel lines in as an important aspect of the image view, but it wasn't so much the subject, thereby giving the people that want tack-sharp images an excuse to bang you with a one......DNMC in their view, and lousy technicals to boot is all they saw.

I got a 6.56xx with this......met the challenge in spades, parallel to the millimeter, but is this an evocative image? Nah! It's a pretty pitcher that is technically correct as well. It got a Top 10 and I watched in utter fascination as it climbed all week long. I was kinda surprised it did so well....I was expecting a Mid-5 at best.

Your image has a bunch of mood, and what you provoked was responses on both ends of the spectrum. That's art, not a contest entry.

Where do you want to be?.......8>)

Ok so after being here for a couple months and entering 19 challenges I know that Team Suck is the place I belong. I usually have the choice when it is time to enter the challenges to choose a typical, for dpc, shot or a more obscure or creative shot and while I want a higher score I can't bring myself to enter the less imaginative shot. So will Team Suck have me? And who must I go to to receive my lashings or whatever it is you do to be initiated into the Team of Suck?

Don posthumous is the one to ask..

Welcome, Mr. minso.

As the Eagles so finely stated in Hotel California, "You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."

As long as the cafe makes a decent cappucino. I have yet to find one here... :-(

Had a 6.0000 in Shadows for one whole vote! It was fun! Back down now but still VERY respectable and I'm very happy with it.
