It's been said so many times, but it bears repeating. It's a thankless, difficult, psychotic volunteer job that these people do, and one would almost have to be completely off-the-wall insane to even consider doing it. However, for all the faults that are inherent in humanity, this group of people tends to do the best job they can do, and more often than not gets it right. Damned if they do, and damned if they don't, yet they keep slogging on. That's worth a bloody medal in my books.

Or you could argue some just like the power trip... ;P

In all seriousness though, if some of us hadn`t kicked up a stink this could of well been left unchecked and two fine upstanding members of our community would of been kicked out quite unfairly.

I recommend reading this link before you post the obvious replies..

Sarcasm or not, hypotheticals like this (the bolded) do nobody any favors. (although 'fine upstanding members' made me giggle)

My pay rate is based on my notoriety quotient, not my arse-kissing level. ;-P

You misunderstand. I dont see anyone slagging SC for what they did here. We've just found something new to slag them on. ;-) Come to think of it, you'd be great for the job!

I vote K10DGuy to SC!!

It had nothing to do with the thread. Langdon verified credit cards.

Besides, SC is small fry. I've already started a funding drive to buy DPC from Langdon.

I hate to point out the white elephant in the room....but since they were both paid members at one point, is there a reason this was not done BEFORE the ban?

Just sayin........

ETA: I do also want to add my congrats on admitting that a mistake had been made, and doing it the right (public) way just as the ban had been public announced. :)

Kenskid is trying to log on but it gives him a suspension message. He would like someone to contact him on that.

I will look into his account and check the suspension status.

Because there's nothing wrong with screwing up, as long as you say you're sorry and explain how it's not your fault. ;-)

slippy, you've shared your opinion already. move on to another target please.

Thanks for pointing that out for the 10th time. NOW I get it.

Come on slippy. I mean, we all know how much you want to be a child, but being childish isn't always a good thing ;)

Rugman, in the original thread, swore that he didn't know anyone on DPC personally. That kind of information, or misinformation, could have played a key part. If he and/or kenskid, had been forthright from the start, it could probably have gone a long way towards resolution.

But no, they apparently had to play their little game, or possibly even truly did think that the SC was out to get them already (which would be ironic as all hell), who knows. However, since they weren't forthcoming and played the game, they suffered a little bit of the consequence. Pointing that out is a good thing, since it might, hopefully, make SOMEONE think about it in the future so they don't make the same mistakes.

As frisca pointed out, the apology at the end, directed to kenskid and rugman, was devoid of any such wording.

This is like applauding the government for a new non-smoking initiative when they are the same people who collect taxes from cigarette sales. It throws mud in the face of Site Council as it renders their efforts to be somewhat futile. The whole friend voting thing happens on this site anyhow through the existing structure and is encouraged by "league teams" and forum requests to help select member images for challenge submissions.

The only fault of these guys is that they developed a pattern. Or let me say, they irritated someone enough to encourage SC to seek out a pattern.

These patterns already exist and we all complain about them repeatedly through troll complaints. Which of course, do not exist.

Usually the scrubber takes care of them but in this case, the "SC scrubbers" got involved.

SC shouldn't have to scrub these messes when these messes shouldn't occur in the first place.

why isn't that done for every payment ?

That's an awful lot of 'shouldn'ts'. I guess you have all the solutions packaged up and ready to send to Langdon and the SC then, right?
