I was able to leave work early on Sunday (they let the plow drivers leave early) so I ran home grabbed my camera and went back out as the sun was just coming over the horizon. These are some of the shots I got.

YEAH! 10-20" MORE tomorrow night through Wednesday night!

Where are we going to put it all?

This is my first chance to post because I went 27 hours without electric or heat after 28 inches of snow. And I'm two blocks from the beach. This is my lovely back deck. Oh yea, and 18 more tomorrow? The thought makes me ill.

I'm done with snow too!!! We lost power Saturday morning, and we're STILL without power. Dangit. At least I was able to get to work today and feed my DPC craving. :-D We did stay at a hotel Sunday night so I only had to go a day and a half without internet (seemed like FOREVER!).

Hooray!!! The power just came back on! WOOHOO, I'm SO HAPPY! The furnace is cranking, the hot water is on the way back, and...the internet connection is BACK. :-)

Now, this stinking storm brewing outside better behave and leave the powerlines alone. :-P

... and now that the power is back on you might want to monitor all that wonderful electric equipment you have around the house to ensure that none of it sustained any damage due to power fluctuations or surges. Many years ago in this part of Canada we had an ice storm and many people sustained damage to their electrical appliances.

You mean the one that's already dumped about five inches here and is snowing like crazy?

Blizzard of '10 Redux

This second snowfall in a week is really worse than the 28 inch episode we had on Saturday. Only about 15 inches at this time but this is very heavy wet snow that is backbreaking to shovel. There are now over 30,000 people without power due to downed trees and power lines. The 30-40 mph winds are likely to cause more damage. Looks like I won't work again tomorrow.
