Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am very excited to announce that my book "Actuality" is now available for pre-order. With just under a month before the first shipments start to be mailed out, I look back at where this huge project began.
In January of 2007, I took my first steps outside the United States and began taking photos in Iraq for this book. In March of 2009, I began another 1 year deployment to the Middle East, this time in Afghanistan. Saying either of those two places haven't become a part of who I am today would be a lie. Being there, experiencing something far outside of my comfort zone, and documenting it, I hope is now immortalized in this book.

On July 15th 2010, let me share with you the stories and photographs from two years of my life spent there. These are not my stories, these are the stories of every man and woman you hear about referred to as "troops" on the news, but in much greater detail. Regardless of one's opinion on either of the wars, this book covers a broad range of content. It is suitable for all ages and is a very inspiring read.

Some of the people here at DPC have played a huge role in making this book a reality. Particularity SandyP, Melethia, Art Roflmao, NathanWert, and PhotoDave. Their continued encouragement and ideas has inspired me undertake this huge project.

You can place your pre-order at:

Thank you all!

- Cory Smith

Cory, that cover photo is simply amazing. Huge congratulations are in order on your book. It's a story that should be told for sure - and from what you've displayed, you've done so in an extraordinarily moving way.

Thanks everyone so far :)

Deb, there is a check box under the product image on the checkout page that allows you to choose if you want an autographed copy or not.
Let me know if you have any more questions. =D

Thank you again everyone. I just hope many people get the opportunity to enjoy the unique subject matter and gather a better understanding of the people and things that have occurred there that is usually transparent on most media sources.
