I am going to be back in Wisconsin from July 19th - the 27th. Plan is to GTG for the usual breakfast and morning photo shoot. I am looking at either the 24th or 25th. If it is the 25th It would be a bit of a later start because I am going to be having a late night on the 24th. However if need be I can get up early and treat myself to an afternoon nap later in the day. Toss your name and idea into the mix and lets see where it takes us.

ok Sunday it is, I will only have about 4-5 hours available so I would hope to keep the drive time from Watertown at an hour or less. John said he is availble that weeknd. I can't remember if I told him about this thread or not but I can contact him on facebook and direct him here.

Got your message Brian. I'm most likely in. That's Smartypants' birthday so we may have to play a few things by ear...

I don't know what everyone has in mind but I know the best spot for exotic birds in Horicon Marsh. Its called Dike Road and goes a couple miles into the middle of the marsh. Its right outside of Mayville.

This sounds good, Apart from I wont be bringing any long glass with me. Just my 17-55 2.8 Gotta travel light because my wife is planning on hauling all kinds of stuff back to NZ. Unfortunately I will be the guy carrying the load at the airports. So I am packing as little as posible for the trip. I guess we can have Fritz go out into the swamp and chase the birds towards us so I can get some close-ups. lol

If the marsh is OK with everyone we could meet at the McDonalds in Mayville and go to the marsh from there. I would say that 7 or 7:30am would be a good time to meetup. We could go in one or two vehicles because you drive on a gravel road into the marsh and you don't have to get out, just shoot out the car window. It works great.

For your GPS, the address for the McDonalds is 1157 Horicon Street, Mayville.

as long as we don't have to eat breakfast at McDonalds. lol I will bring my 2x teleconvert with me so I can get a little extra distance out of my lens. Or maybe I will opt to travel with the 18-200 instead. really wanted to bring the 17x55 though as it blows that 18-200 out of the lake.

I don't have any specific locations in mind, though I always wanted to do the Milwaukee Art Museum at sunrise (I missed the last one). Kirbic and Bugz, what do you think?

Right at the moment I would take anything that doesn't involve water... We're in the Dells camping right now, and we are in the middle of a deluge. But Mickey-D's is dry, and has free WiFi :-)

I am afraid. I have to back out of this. Just found out that my family has set up a Sunday Brunch in honor of us being home. I am not going to be able to get out of this one eiher, believe me I would much rather go out shooting with you guys then listen to the same 10 questions repeated by everyone there. If something changes I will let you know.
