Yep, watching it closely... I know they were visible in northern WI last night, and tonight's display could be as strong or stronger. Also could fizzle, but hey.

Too bad it wasn't on Sunday where I was hanging out at night at a Bortle Dark Sky scale class 2 area. Could have been a nice show.

I know..I get alerts all the time....even from clear dark sky.

Problem is....every time there is a chance to see an aurora in CT, it's cloudy. EVERY TIME for the past 7 years!!!

Once I thought I had photographed one because it was a clear night. Nope....CLOUD!

I'm more central WI, but I'll be keeping a lookout for it. That would be cool.

The actual flare happened on Sunday. The particles started hitting the atmosphere last night. Naturally it was cloudy here and by the time I thought to get out of the city it was um...2 am. :(

When I brought Rose home from hospital (just born) (9 years ago) i went to the mail box at about 1am. The whole sky was lit up with the Northen Lights. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen and promptly called everyone I knew. Never seen one since. Wish I had had a camera back then!

I have had good luck with the northern lights, Seen them 3 different times. Sure am glad I did too because now that I am living in New Zealand I know I won't get to see them again until I move back to Wisconsin which will not be for a few more years at the very least.
