I was heading back to the parking garage this morning from my Doctor's office and heard this incredibally loud noise...sounded lihe a head-on colision above me. And a couple of seconds later this car plummeted down beside me from the 2nd deck of the parking garage. I was standing about where the EMS bag is on the left. The driver, an elderly lady, was shaken but totally fine...said the car just took off.

I think it's time for a drink!

Impressive. Glad it's not some loved one of yours writing in to tell us you'd been crushed to death.

...I just bet she hit the gas instead of the brakes.

What a story! Glad you weren't hurt.

Drink up. And next time you hear loud bangs above you, run for cover. Or at least remind your brother you're in a bunk bed.

Yeah, old people are always doing that.

Good to here you're OK. Um... Doesn't a 'near miss' equate to a hit? ;-)

Yeah, old people are always doing that.

Sometimes more than once. A senior floored it at an intersection and went through a corner lawn and nipped the corner of a building before ramming a friend of mine. She said the car 'just took off'. After some questioning, it turned out another car of hers also 'just took off' right through the back of her garage.

Anyway, congrats on being on the lucky side of that close call, it would've been the end of you. I'm sure the driver will be behind the wheel of another car soon enough, though.

Sometimes I'm tempted to hang around at a shopping plaza nearby to make a video of seniors in the parking lot rubbing & dinging cars. The wife & I call it 'the geriatric plaza', because so many seniors shop there and mess cars up. One old guy did a hit & run on my empty, parked car the week I bought it new. I called the police. They went to his house and he confessed. He wouldn't talk to me, his wife did. They paid for the repair, but his wife had the nerve to suggest I get a few quotes and take the lowest one. I gave her a piece of my mind and my car went to the most expensive place in town.

When I go blind I'm getting a hummer.

Man, that is crazy. Glad you are OK... My mom got hit about 7 years ago by an old person who then proceeded to plow into the building where my mom was going. She still has pain in her leg from that accident.

I hear getting hummers MAKES you go blind.
