Not sure if a book is considered hardware, but wanted to know if anyone has either of these two books, and if they can comment on them?

The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Book for Digital Photographers - Scott Kelby
Kelby

The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 Book: The Complete Guide for Photographers - Martin Evening
Evening

Both books look to be very similar, and very well received. I have read through Kelby's book, and really like it. I found the explanations and detail to be very good for every step he takes. I've not been able to find Evening's book in the store, so haven't been able to compare.

Has anyone looked at both, and can compare them to one another?

Scott Kelby's book I found very useful as a newbie at the time to Lightroom. I got version 2, and bought the book and read cover to cover. I upgraded to 3 and bought the book which I've mainly dipped into.

It's got very useful step-by-steps for things like importing photos. Basically couldn't recommend it enough hehe.

Can't comment about the other book as I've not read it.

I have books (not for Lr) from both authors and I find them both very good writers; different in style, but not so different in the value of the content. The ideal thing to do, if you can, is to read a page or three out of both and figure out which author's style you like more. I think you can do this at Amazon.

Yeah, I usually try that, but the pages they do show are often not good indicators of the book as a whole.
