I get mine from Goldenstateart.com but was wondering if there were any cheaper sites out there? Shipping is usually the killer but I've been able to get mat board+backing+clear bag for around $1.69 each from them on 8X12 opening which is pretty good. Just curious where other shop?

That is fairly cheap for the three items, I've never ordered them online, I usually go to a framing store for those, but of course the prices are marked up. Sometimes I find mats in thrift stores for a couple of dollars each.

I've used Dixie Matting and been happy with the experience. They He seems like a one man operation when I talked to him on the phone but everything came as ordered and I thought that the price was right.

I also use Golden State but they are right up the road from me and I just drive over to get the mattes I need.

Another excellent quality place that I use is Redimat who go the extra mile in service.

I buy frames online, but I buy the matboard from a local art store. I use colored mats, and it's helpful to be able to carry the print down to the store and hold it up to the mats.
