| I have an almost 10 year old Quantum battery pack that I have been using with my 550ex flash. It no longer holds a charge to get me through a photo shoot. I'm have trouble finding anything other than Quantum. Is that about it? I had heard about digitalcamerabattery.com, but it looks like they might have gone out of buisness. Anyone have any advice? |

If you want to got the DIY approach D Cell packs or sealed lead acid packsor here are a cheap way out. They do add wires and need a notch to let the cables in through the battery door. If you use your flash on a stand these work well when held in small bags like belly bags.

| There are these from Flash Zebra, but I've never used them. I've ordered other stuff from Flash Zebra and the service is really great, but I've got no comment on the product itself. There's also the Canon branded one that's a bunch more expensive. |

Why wouldn't you WANT to stay with Quantum is the one you are replacing just lasted you nearly 10 years? That seems like enough of a sell to me. Just curious...

| I just bought one of the cheap shoot ep-n4 of eBay £20 Inc delivery. It arrived new batteries in nothing... Out came multimeter and thought I'd figured it out, badly cast plastic preventing battery touching the contact, filed it down was getting 12.2v out of the 8 AA batteries, kept fault tracing had power unto the step up transformer but no power beyond it. Thats where electronics skills end so I'm sendingit back, get a canon or quantumn. Buy cheap buy twice as the old boys say |
