| Ever since Tim Hortons got bought by Wendys, they suck... It's never been the same! I don't even look forward to it when I travel back to Hamilton anymore! |

I didn't know they were bought out. I find it disturbing that they Americanized the Extra Large, though. It's like a freaking bucket! :-O

Actually, it's not owned by Wendys anymore. Wendys sold all of its interest in Tim Hortons by 2006. Hortons is now a 100% Canadian publicly traded company. |

| Whatever happened with the battle of the cup where some guy (I think it was a teacher or something)threw his cup in the trash without rolling the rim and some kid found it, rolled the rim and won a car? Then the teacher said it was HIS car? Anyone remember that? |

Vaguely remember it, and don't know the official outcome, but doubt teach would have got to keep his car. It was his cup - until he threw it in the trash, and that means you've yielded all ownership to the property, even if it was yours til just a few seconds before. So the kid should have been allowed to keep it.
ETA: Didn't find a teacher/student one but there is one where in PQ, a 10-yr-old girl found a discarded cup and asked a 12-yr-old girl to help her roll up the rim. An SUV was the prize and the two girls' families got in a fight over it. Then the school janitor jumped in, said the cup was his and a DNA test would prove it. The courts found in favour of the 10-yr-old, so my above assumptions were right.

| Thanks Susan. well guys, just keep rollin' them rims. The only thing I ever won was a free cup of coffee. We live two hours away from the nearest Timmy's so I was SAVING that cup (cuz I drank it on the way home) and my hubby ( who is NOT a coffee drinker) chucked it out! Can you believe it? My only freebee :( |

| When I worked in the Data Center of my company a few years ago, there was a Timmy-Ho's up the street and I would walk up there once in a while for a hot chocolate. I recall not doing too bad in these give-aways but now that I've moved to the central offices(woo hoo for promotions and day shifts!), there is free coffee/tea in the break-room and I don't go there anymore. |
