Man! It's hard to be clever within the character limit for Metal on Metal...

Hope this is a clear enough title.

Show us your Metal on Metal scores!

I'm quite happy with this score, honestly even shocked a little perhaps.

Did a quick scan of the images, a few really awesome entries that I'd like to take a second look at later.

Somewhere between GOLD and LEAD (tending more to the lead side, though):

Really up and down. Started at 5.5 with about 8 votes, up to 6.6 very quickly, then down to low 6.2s 3 votes later.

Funky voting. :)

Have to disagree on this Wendy. Just like the banana challenge. The challenge is taken so literal - a picture of a banana, of a nail, of a rotten wheel ... We shall look a notch beyond the immediate response that comes to the mind.
At least in Metal on Metal there is no dew on old wheels.
PS. Did not vote yet.

Have to disagree with you, Mariuca. There are challenges, where you can hop in and out of the box as far as you like, but when the challenge description says "include a banana in your shot" I expect to see a banana, not a blurry yellow anything or a cucumber only (just examples). In "Metal on Metal" I expect to find at least two identifiable metal objects in a close relationship as the main subject, everything else gets a 1-3 from me - and, for example, I don't consider a car on a steel bridge at the horizon of a landscape a main subject. Anyone can have a fling in challenges like "negative space" or Off-centered", but some challenges should be taken literally.

Depends on whether you want to be challenged by the topic or just looking for a place to show your snaps.

Great idea, I'll have to remember that for a future challenge.

Doing decently, about what I expected for this.

Well, for me, it's a personal best. Not good by other standards, but I'm pretty happy so far.

I'm not saying that their are a number of shots ready for the Louvre, but people went out and explored their world. There was a great mix of straight up shots and shots where people played around with their point of view. But it was a challenge of exploration, and there were some wonderful finds.

I try to change things up occasionally, try for a different style, explore the art in photography, but I'll probably always be the documentary type. So I greatly appreciate the "finds" in photography. I thought people really stepped it up on this one. I can't think of anyone who is a metal-on-metal photographer. So it seemed like no one had their normal shots in mind on this one. So they had to step out of their comfort zone and find something interesting in an uninteresting subject.

I enjoyed their studies. I liked the variety. I like the exploration. And I liked the quality of what they did with their finds.

OK, so I've been getting a bit rusty it seems (haha)
But really... the score is tanking!

Sorry but I can't equate "being challenged by the topic" to "doing what's expected". Obviously I'm arguing for creative interpretation and not snap-showing.
