Why would a photo taken with my 5D be blurry in landscape but when I rotate the camera and take a photo in portrait of the same subject, its tack sharp? It was consistent like that throughout the day now that I am going through the photos. I cant find much through google about this. My only guess is that it has something to do with IS when its not needed in broad daylight at high shutter speeds. Thats just a wild theory of mine.....anyone have any clue?

What lens?

No clue. My first thought was maybe something somewhere is loose and when it's tilted for portrait, the loose piece might get put back into place, but when it's in landscape, it's out of place? Sorry, not much help here!

the 24-105 L. Im thinking my computor may be a problem? When zoomed to say 24.01% as in "fit to screen" in photoshop and change it to 25% it becomes a little clearer. Could that be the problem? Im really hoping its not the hardware!

Have you actually looked at the photo at 100%?

try opening both images in Canon DPP, blow them up to 100% and compare..

Images ARE always sharper-looking at 100%, 50%, 25% precisely... It's hard for me to imagine a reason why the HARDWARE would junk horizontal but not vertical orientations. As Cory said, blow 'em both up to 100% and check carefully.

Yeah its weird how PS always makes images look crappy when they are at the "in between" percentages...check at 100% in DPP like everyone is saying and report back :)

What's it like in camera on the LCD, this sounds much more like a computer error than camera

thinking the same with a computer issue.

i know i cant stand when LR makes my images look blurry but when i zoom them a bit they crisp right up. if its a RAW try exporting the image and view it in another viewer.

Thanks everyone that's exactly what it was. Thank god it was the camera or lens. I usually view my photos in bridge before I edit them in photoshop or transfer to light room and for some reason no matter what size I changed the landscapes to in bridge they were always blurry! Thanks again for the relief

Sounds like your pre-rendered previews are set to small. You'll probably find they look better in the Develop module rather than the library module.

However, not sure why you are not just importing them into LR instead of picking and choosing in Bridge - sounds like you are doubling up on your work. LR is the total solution for Storing, cataloging, keywording, sorting and processing your images. Might be worth reviewing your workflow.
