Top 12 all landscapes. Has this happened before?

I guess I know what to shoot next free study.

I am definately not going with birds like I did last time.

Plus it's really only Jager in the top 18 and we all know the work he does. Impressive. Maybe I'd nitpick with the wave shot being a landscape...

I also noticed that over the years DPC has gravitated to much more muted colors in the landscapes that do well. This month is a good example.

Glad to be 15th in Free Study, but 14th in the landscapes :D

Funny that this is one of my first BW landscapes (in this genre I prefer colors)... but that image worked in BW for sure.

And naturally I try to buck the tide, since I've pretty much stopped submitting my "classic" Cape Cod seascapes/landscapes to free studies.

Landscapes were the "in" thing when I first started with DPC. It seemed like almost every single free study, landscapes would win. The things really seemed to even out, change up, etc. I think there's been a really nice mix of what's done well in free studies over a good chunk of time. :)

It was actually fun seeing landscapes in the top 12 this time around. Interesting anomaly. :)

This will happen forever. Landscapes are normally non confrontational, non threatening, dream inducing.
Not easy to shoot for sure, appealing to everybody, instructional. Nothing wrong with it.
Perhaps we just have to specify when they have to be predominant. It seems that FS is the perfect time for landscapes.

Ughg, not really.
I'd rather spoon my eyes out than look at landscapes all day.

Huh. How's that working out for you living in the world and all? ;)

Obviously I meant in terms of free studies.

Seems to me the top three "landscapes" derive most of their "wow factor" from either sea or sky ...
