I am always trying to work on my studio skills and it has been a while since I have participated in or started a side challenge so I thought this a good idea.
The thing with this challenge is I want to see set ups when a shot is posted, it has always been helpful to me to see how people had their lights set up and the effects it gave
I would like to clarify that you DO NOT have to have strobes, constant lighting or even Speedlights for that matter. If you're "studio" is a piece of white cardboard in your living room with 2 clamp on work lights with paper over them, please post!

I am going to do this whether I get 50 participants or zero, so this may just end up being a thread I post my own pictures in :) However, the more the merrier.

I'll participate but will probably only be able to post a couple of shots a week.
Also, I need to include that my "studio" set up is a (tempermental) speedlight and various pieces of foam core. I'll pretty much use mostly natural light and photos will mostly be of objects vs. a person (people).

oh, and thanks Jason for starting this. I hardly ever do studio type shots so will be really good seeing the various setups and learning more about it.

I'm in. I was just thinking it would be cool to have a studio/how I light stuff sort of side challenge.

I'm going to try and participate, too!

How do you want your set-ups posted? As a picture of the studio with lights in place, as a diagram...?

Awesome, and it's always understood some people can do a shot a day. And I am actually interested in the makeshift studio setups myself

If I had a studio I would play. But I don't. And I've been really lousy at trying to keep up with side challenges. ;D

That said, if I get a chance, I might have one or two over the month.

My "studio" is mostly bed sheets, foam core and shop lights, but I will try to contribute.

I've been trying to learn more about "makeshift" studio setups. Please sign me up. I won't be able to post much because December is a very busy month, but a few here and there.

Best place to learn, welcome!

Since you are welcoming makeshift studios, I'll have a go, too. I don't have any professional studio equipment at all, but I'll try to improvise and learn some tricks from others. Probably the first week I'll be lucky if I do anything as my husband has holidays.

I'll do what I can with my time...

OK, I want to get back into it so maybe this is what I need.
Time permitting and model (family) availability will always be a problem (sigh)

I work with strobist gear.
Have an sb26, sb28, two soft boxes, two shoot through umbrellas stands and backdrops.
Also have flashes for my canon and olympus systems so they can be used also.

The following was a shoot I did for my daughters work. They wanted before/after shots for their website (she works in the beauty industry)
First image shows the setup. You will notice I have added a baffle to my umbrellas (homemade). This is to help spread the light and stop hotspots.

Two umbrellas for this job. Basic headshots so nothing special here.
Hope this is what you were after. Have shown both the before and after shot of one person. (Images removed due to release)

Cheers
