I've been asked if a company can use of my photos over on 1x for their "contact us" page on their website. They currently have a singe large background image on the page and I'm going to assume for now that they'll use my photo in this context.
They're going to pay for the photo and have asked my rate. I've never given much consideration to selling my photos but if someone wants to buy one I'm not about to say no :)
I do want them to use it so I'm not looking to price too high, but I would like to know what's a reasonable rate for this sort of thing.

off the top of my head i'm guessing a couple hundred. |

Cheers Skip, I already replied based on some guides I found online, it was indeed in the region of a couple of hundred :)
Now just need to wait and see if they really want it. |

| i hope it works out. if it looks like it might not (and if that's the case, hopefully they'll get in touch with you rather than leave you hanging), try not to simply cave. i've been lucky enough sometimes to actually get the person i'm dealing with on the phone and convince them that it doesn't make sense to let a hundred bucks get in the way of having the image they sought out. you can also ask them if it's something they'd like to have on their wall, and if so, offer to through in an 11x14 print as part of the deal. |
