Admit it - DPC Needs a Holiday Project. We've done a few collaborative projects before and they are always fun and not all that hard to do. Basically we will have a poem and you can volunteer to read lines, you record the lines (2 or 3 variations works well) and the audio is emailed to the audio producer (I'll do it if nobody else wants to). Anyone can also volunteer specific photos or allow to select from their portfolio. Then I'll put it all together in a slideshow. *Caveat: I sometimes take artistic license on the images to make them more entertaining in the video. Don't volunteer anything you don't want messed with. Don't worry though, no Godzillas. Probably.

We already have some volunteers from this thread.

The writing effort is already underway and this time will be different than past projects in that the poem will not be revealed publicly until the final production is posted. That means I will assign the lines to read and will PM them to the assigned volunteer with some instructions. Voice volunteers will need to have some way of recording audio and getting it into a transferable file format. If anyone wants to volunteer help with the recording process, feel free to jump in with suggestions, etc.

The goal will be to have this completed by 12/21 so if you are assigned to read, I will probably give you two verses or lines and that way if someone can't deliver, I'll have backups. Also - feel free to volunteer your child to do the voice recording if you want - kids voices add a very special flavor to this - especially if they are at the stage where their R's sound like W's. :P

Let's have some fun with it.

I am happy to volunteer to read a couple of lines if my English voice doesn't sound too strange amongst the Americans! Also happy for you to use any of my photos - and for you to add artistic licence.

If you need a strong French accent, I am there! You can also use my photos as you need, I don't mind.

Awesome! Always great to add some international flavor to it. :)

The only variation is a strong Italian accent :)

Awesome!! I just have a normal, midwestern voice, but I still volunteer it along with anything you want in my portfolio. :D

If you need some instrumental brass playing, I think I know a guy....

Just to make clear - would love to read a few lines, but will definitely NOT inflict my 'singing' on any one!

I do not remember the 2006 one at all (though I was in the song one). I'll be in this one, ok?

Thanks for organizing Ken!! You make a great creative Project Manager and I vote for you to mix and manage the project!

Technical question: what is a good format for voice recording? I can make a recording using IPhone that creates a .m4a (QuickTime compatible) file. Is that suitable? Or is there something more specific you need? .avi, .mp3???

I don't know about the voice part, not really sure if I can do it with my windows phone (though I can look into it), but you can use anything you want, any way you want to from my portfolio.

Give him a phone call and he'll record it. He has a lot of experience with that type of thing. ;-Þ

I'm available in the Ottawa area for anybody who lives around here and is on this thread that can't do their own voice recording due to lack of equipment/software.
Also, anything in my portfolio is up for grabs and i'll hang a few christmas themed images in a stocking, by the fire (with care), in hopes that Art Roflmao will soon be there :)

If you still need voices I will try my hand. If not and you need photos feel free to select one of mine and work your magic. This sounds like fun. I just saw the video from 2006 and that was really neat.

I liked the first version a lot so I'd be happy to volunteer any of my photos and my husband's Yorkshire accent (my own accent supposed to be Dutch by some weird aspects of my education)
