I think it would be interesting to see where people are placed in order of their average vote received. Anyone else think that?

I think it would be a bit unfair, because a new member could join, get a 7 score, never enter again, and be the highest average user forever. It's also much harder keeping a high average over 100+ challenges, as opposed to 10 or 15.

Konador is right, but all you would have to do is only apply those people that have entered 20 or more challenges.

I think it would be nice to see the top 50 or so photographers on this site. There are so many that come 5-15th every week and who don't post on the forums so their folios don't get viewed as often.

I would presume it's fairly easy to do being that all the data is already there.?

I've seen this kind of thing done well, but as a 50 and a 500 'club' i.e. you would need to have 50 contributions to make the 50 club and 500....

maybe 10+ and 25+ (50?) would suit dpc

A rolling average would work better for showing who the current talent to watch is; but the more samples taken, the more consistency plays a role.

It would certainly be interesting to see who ranks at the top, but equally interesting to see where I rank.

This has been talked about in the past, I don't know if it ever made the "list". As previously suggested, it could be done as a rolling average, with multiple categories:

Best of last 5 challenges
Best of last 20 challenges
Best lifetime*

*only those with >20 challenges entered are eligible

There aren't words to express how great this would be. But then, I love statistic analysis.

:)

This might be a good project for the end of each year. Just rank everyone who was a member for at least six or nine months. I think it would be fun to have a people's choice report, too... best of 2004, most improved, most helpful comments, most consistent, most active member, worst puns (ahem), etc. Give ribbons for the top three.

That's MEMBER (singular). We all know there are dozens of laurielblacks.
