I apologize to all whom I argued against that there were/are 13 cows in my image. I was wrong and you were right. It was just pointed out to me by Scalvert.
I honestly never saw that cow myself. I do now.

Just wanted to prove to the nay sayers and all those people that attacked me so vehemently that there were in fact 13 cows in my image.
Just count the red dots with which I marked each cow.
Thanks to those who did appreciate my image.

Ended up in 116th place out of 129. Close to the bottom of the pile. Personally I thought it would score around 5.3 to 5.5 so the 4.8 was a bit less then I thought it was worth. Or was I expecting too much?
For technical quality, composition, editing, processing, B&W conversion and general visual impression I thought it would score above average (average being 5) But that's just me.
Such a pity that my original post about there being 13 cows in my image in the Members section was interpreted by some in a misconstrued and twisted way thus trying to make me appear as some unfeeling ghoulish monster who only cares about obtaining high scores and has no respect for other members opinions here. It wasn't like that at all. My comment was not meant to be insulting and was only directed at the people who were I felt were down voting me because they could not see 13 cows in my picture and said so in their voting comments.
(By the way 3 of those comments that questioned the amount of 13 disappeared again during the voting stage)
But at no time was I trying to belittle or insult people intentionally or otherwise. And I do not enter or care about the score so much actually as I mentioned already I was expecting it to score around 5.3 to 5.5 or there abouts. But when I saw that it was only scoring 4.3 to 4.5 during the voting and with the comments questioning the amount of 13 cows, I felt that people were downvoting me because of the number of cows and not looking at the other aspects of the image. Hence my post in the members section. I do acknowledge that I suffer from an inability to communicate effectively with people and I experience that daily in my life that is why I have become somewhat of a recluse avoiding human and social contact. DPC is actually my only way of communicating with the outside world and even that seems to lead to me being attacked and vilified almost every time I post something on the forums here. That can range from making a simple suggestion for a challenge theme to responding to a thread where people are asked for an opinion.
I just hope that this post wont evoke a storm of hateful comments and attacks on me again.

Regards
Fred

It was pretty difficult to find all the cows. However, during voting I was able to find them all and I gave you a 7. There was no doubt in my mind that there were 13...

You're back? I thought you threw your hissy, took your ball and stomped off.

Welcome back.

I see 13 red dots, that much is certain.

Damn you are right...now I honestly see that for the 1 st time because you pointed it out. I never noticed that. Indeed 14 cows then. I apologize to all those whom I thought couldn't count. I was wrong. Ok that justifies my low score then.

edited for correction of spelling mistake and sentence construction.

You were attacked vehemently for this image? Was that in a separate thread? Or are you joking?

I'm down near the bottom of the pack with you. I think it is for using a ketchupy substance. Or maybe the iphone. I'm not exactly sure.
But just think: you were outside having fun while I was inside messing with razor blade. You win IMHO.

Yes in the Members forum. You are right though..I did have fun cycling around on my bicycle with my doggy in the carrier basket on the back looking for something to photograph. It was a nice spring day as well :)

I say you deserve a 10 for your stylish technique. But I would say that.

There was certainly an extreme response to the criticism of this image.

I love your Moo's. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently there are egos here in D.P.C. that totally warp scoring. I mean give me a break.....???? I think comments should be more important ......so there. LOVE Moos. One of the reasons I really dont spend MUCH time in the forums is because egos really bloat here and rants are gagging and nauseating sometimes....like a forum....in.... which.....for..... one to - dump....and run.

At least with Moos......their dumps fertilize so much. Unlike the s**t people hand out around here....lololololololol!!!! OMG.......the idea that people actually count and dnmc over this type of challenge makes me think they are still pre-K. .....and probably need their diapers changed...... ollololololol

Yes you are right..it was eventually after being needled and as I felt..provoked, and I do not want to have to explain it all again. I sometimes loose it as I am not 100% well yet and swallow 5 different kind of pills for my moods and depressions and they do funny things to the serotonin in my brain. There are those here that are aware of what I have gone through in the past and understand what ails me but some will go on and on to attack me. The person that instigated my response in that thread and me have laid our differences aside now. I do not think it's a great or fantastic image and never said that. It was all about that I thought I was unfairly being down-voted because of the comments during voting that said there were not 13 cows. I was sure there were and stated that in that post. For what it's worth..I personally think the image is just average and thought it was worth about a 5.3 to 5.5 but that was when I still thought there were 13 cows. That is my personal opinion and if you feel that it was worth much less then that that is your opinion. Not saying you do but if you do then I'm fine with that is what I am saying. Although now it has been pointed out to me that there are in fact 14 cows in my image so perhaps it is now worth only 4.8 after all :)

Ahh- the locked thread. OK I see now.

I recall many frustrations from people not understanding my intent or my images in general. I still feel that way sometimes.
And then there are people in forums who are blunt and use words carelessly. Don't take it personally.

Side thought: Man I wish I put a french-fry in my image …

I just could not contemplate going through that challenge and counting 13 of one thing in all the photos - I just trusted the people

Don't dwell on it Fred. I thought it was a good image and gave it a 7

Keep the faith

Mike

The thread title alone is ribbon-worthy.

You are right actually...it should have been DQ'd actually. I think you can make a request to site council for that.
Then the current 117th placed image and all those below will all move one up to their rightful places.
03/27/2013 10:48:25 AM · #20
Failure to meet the challenge is not a DQ.

Hey, it was nothing to do with the number ,it was just a rubbish shot.

I actually thought it was one of the better photos in the challenge. Maybe I have a cow fetish. How udderly disturbing!

Perfect excuse for my fav shot, which certain voters complained about at the time as it didn't 'fill the frame' and thus didn't meet the challenge - Personally, I think this site has something against cows.

Thanks for pointing that out Tiny. It really is a rubbish shot. Should have finished last in fact.
