Allow illegals to vote in NYC

Really??? Ok how is it a good idea or smart idea to allow somebody that is NOT a citizen, the right to vote? This is absolutely retarded. People should be required to show a govornment issued picture ID first of all. Second you should have to be a citizen of the country to be able to vote.

I cant go to Germany and say ok I am here so I should be able to vote....These people are getting dumber and dumber as time goes on.

By the way, I support immigration. This country was founded on it. However, It has to be LEGAL immigration. You come here legally, I will welcome you with open arms. You just go and hop the fence, I have no prob sending you back to where you came, quick fast and in a hurry

I was just going to say, the link talks more about

There's a definite difference between illegals and legal, permanent residents who pay taxes.

Yeah I just re-read the article and I retract my statement. I completely read that wrong. However the non-citizen immigrants are usually in the process of getting their citizenship.

adam, ray is referring to the fact that they WERE here before and everyone else, including you and i, are descendants of illegal immigrants. re-read your last comment starting with "but if you cross the border" thinking of yourself as a native american.

Studies show that everyone benefits from " illegals" from the construction guy in texas hiring laborers to the Greenwich Ct mansion owner hiring landscapers cheap. the only people who seemed not to benefit are those without a high school degree, and many don't seem to be jumping up and down to go work in the fields picking beans for less than minimum wage. I guess you could say that there would be minimum wage bean picking jobs, that could bolster the economy and give americans real jobs if there were no "illegals" stealing these jobs- but that is just too crazy.

Instead, perhaps we should hold large corporations accountable for moving jobs to place where there is no minimum wage, no standards, perhaps bangladesh? Thats good business- nothing wrong with that- lets pick on the hard working guy working day and night to send next to squat back home to his family. that's the american way- always attack the lesser class-never look up at those who smile, drive the Maserati and laugh as nothing trickles down...

perhaps we as citizens of the United States are better off with a system that keep certain people illegal, did you ever think of that?

actually we aren't descendents of illegal immigrants. the Indians didn't have citizenship laws. What we did was infringe on their hospitality and take their land.

...and one could also argue that all Indians were citizens of their tribal nations and that there existed clearly delineated territories specific to individual tribes.

Unauthorized access to these areas could lead to serious repercussions.
