****************

Short summary of the three systems:

They are all essentially the same system that was used before except for the way the ties are determined:

In system 1, instead of the 5% the tie is a N% corresponding to the challenge with lowest numbers of entries. The threshold then will change from week to week, but it will be the same for all the matches in a given week.

In system 2, instead of the 5% the tie is determined using the formula provided. The threshold changes for each individual match. This system is the only one that doesn't allow ties between images in the same challenge (at least the images had actually tied in the challenge).

In system 3, instead of the 5% the tie is determined by using fix brackets defined by the challenge with the lowest number of entries. Everything within a bracket ties with each other.

System 3

This is the third of the three scoring system proposed for the TPL v2.0. Same as in the previous edition all normal challenges for each week will participate. Later, we will provide a link to allow those that are interested to vote for their preferred system.

The scores are calculated as follows: each member is given the highest percentile obtained from three challenges. Then the members of each team are sorted out from high to low percentile and compared. All Challenges are separated in brackets according to the challenge with lowest participation number:

Then if a match involve two members in the same bracket the match is a tie if it involves different brackets the highest percentile wins. The score is given as befre 3 points for winning, 0 for losing and 1.5 points for tie. Then the four highest individual scores are added and the team with a highest accumulated score is declared winner and awarded 3 points and the loser 0 points. If both teams have the same score then is declared a tie and 1.5 point is awarded to each team. If the six member of the teams participated each team receives extra 0.5 points.

Example:
The lowest entry challenge (Ch1 in this example) guide the brackets, so now all the other challenges percentile are distributed into the brackets of the Ch1. See for example 99%, it exists in Ch2 and Ch3 but not in Ch1 so they are redistributed and end up in the bracket 98%.

Percentile Brackets
Original percentile according to challenge with
lowest entries

Ch1 Ch2 Ch3 Ch1 Ch2 Ch3
100 100 100 --> 100 100 100
98 99 99 --> 98 98 98
97 98 98 --> 97 98 98
95 97 96 --> 95 97 97
93 97 95 --> 93 97 95
92 96 94 --> 92 95 93
90 95 93 --> 90 95 93

Cory will post below examples of this system applied to the previous edition of the TPL.
