so do we need to title the photo the photographer we are imitating, anyone know?

That doesn't seem to be made clear at all. I don't think that we need to imitate a particular photo, though, just a photographer's style.

yes i know that's what i stated, but if we don't make it clear how does anyone vote if they don't know which photographer we are imitating!

Good point. And when voting we can't possibly know that the image is not 'in the style of' the person who entered it. It will be one of those trust issues I suppose.

So, what about those of us who have a ephemerial sort of style? What the heck do we do? Just pick a DPC'er at semi-random?

And speaking of semi-random, this challenge is a seriously unfair challenge for the voter - to expect the voters to actually go look at each chosen photographer's style is a bit of an undue burden really.

Oh well. I may enter. May not. Not sure.

No, no, that's YOUR style. Pick someone with resolute determination, like, well... Maybe that B_M guy? Jejeje...

It's funny, I really did have the same thought. That B_M guy might work too though.

I hope next time we can take an image "In your OWN style", LOL. Oh, sorry we have lots of those. In fact, almost every challenge is open to that.

Watch this space, I will be out of my comfort zone again. But I am in, I hope.

Just thinking, I am going to take an image in the style of my sweet friends', Juliet and tanguera, mixed with a bit of Ken and the old BradP. Maybe I may mix in some Slippy. How about that!

I think that would cause irreversible damage to an already crippled DPC. ;-)

I guess if we choose a well know DPCer, it won't be too hard a challenge.
But what makes this especially hard is the fact that its an OPEN challenge. I know when I first got here, I would have had a lot of trouble with something like this, simply because, some of the well known DPCers aren't on the front page often, if at all.
AND, If we pick a semi-well-known protographer, the newbie voters maybe not even recognize the "in the style of".
This is a tough challenge. I foresee a LOT of griping and complaining about scores, all because people either a) wont know how it's "in the style of", b) not take the time to look up that photogs "style". Not to say that there aren't new "members" who don't know certain photogs style, but usually you don't just jump right in as a paying member without taking your time to explore the place.

Hmmm... This could be fun tho, especially IF you don't care about your score.

It's too early for me to be up, so if this post doesn't make sense, it's cause I'm still half asleep trying to drink coffee. Lol

I think it's a great idea! To heck with scores, I had 5 people pop into mind immediately -- all of which it would be a real challenge and a blast trying to emulate. If I succeeded, I will have gone far beyond what I've done before.

Now I just need to give myself time to actually get it done, and not wait until last minute like I usually do!

I have a great image that would be perfect for one particular DPCer... But taken a day early.
Gonna have to have another go at it. :)

DPC spends too much time mimicing others...

*sigh* but it's not Expert... would have opened so many more possibilities.
