I'd say that's a pretty good advertisement for the local demographic. ;)

A happy coincidence ... I didn't catch that on Doc's image.

Friendly bump. Quite a nice little tool to add to the Topaz package. Bought yesterday had some time to play with it today - some great presets that with one click achieve what normally would have taken me several layers.

Just to make it clear, this isn't like any of the other Topaz (or Nik) products at all: as far as I know, it's a unique plugin.

The best way to visualize it is to imagine you were using photoshop itself and creating gradient masks for the different tonalities in an image, and customizing colors to fade onto each of the different tonalities.

Now, what restyle does is analyze your image when you load it, and generate a whole RAFT of previews based on a VERY large number of categorized presets of different color combinations for the different tonal areas. You scroll through the presets getting ideas for what sort of shifting in the tones might work for you, then load that preset on the image and then customize it, if you wish, with sliders on the right that let you redistribute the output dramatically.

You can save these modified presets as custom presets.

It's a HELL of a nice, complex coloring tool. For the price, if you like playing with out-there color, it's a must-have. Not so much so if your goal is always realistic rendition of color.

I don't know about that last bit Bear. I played with it this evening for a few minutes on a recent challenge entry and a few (not a lot but a few) of the pre-sets gave better color tonality and realistic color than what I had shot originally. I do agree with you that many of the pre-sets have fantastical colors and can definitely change the 'mood' of a shot. Also some of the B&W pre-sets look quite nice too - but I have only tried them on a few of my older shots to see what they would look like and some of the summer vacation shots. Will definitely play more with it.

Oh I agree, some of 'em look useful for reality, whatever that is: what I'm saying is it may not be a "must-have" for that sort of work, but it sure as heck is for the kind of stuff I like to play with :-)

i find the number of presets they include to be overwhelming and a horribly irresistible timewaster.
wish it were more like the old topaz plugins where they give you a handful of presets and it inspires you to make your own.

I hear ya, but in a sense that's what makes it so useful to me: the product is dragging me into territory I might not have thought to visit if left to my own devices. It's a sort of thing I call "serendipity software", and I love it. But, then, I do have plenty of time to waste :-)

I'm enjoying wasting some time with it.

Hmmm, I ignored the flyer when it came through on email, but then read this thread.
For $30 what the heck.
It's never fun to navigate Topaz' order page, but I did it.
And, yes, it's a magnificent timewaster. Ideas galore.
I'm delighted it got talked up here. I'd have missed it.

I got it, looking forward to wasting some time!

My friend; A simple snapshot waiting for our coffee. Nothing but resize and Topaz Re Style.

Infinity of options... and creative application.

I also saw the e-mail and ignored until I saw the mention of it here. I bought it as well, thinking what the heck for $30. I now have Topaz Adjust and Restyle. Next I need to get the DeNoise. Looking for input from users of that. Is it worth it to purchase the DeNoise software?

and another is: Blached Zomp Wash. Not sure I want to look that one up.

Does anyone else get the impression this plug-in is, at least partly, a quick and easy way to use Match Colors?

I paid and clicked on the download and maybe the boiler on this old machine popped a couple of rivets...
Did seem like a nice idea though...

I didn't even know this plug-in existed, but I couldn't resist the chance to get it at bargain price. Still waiting for the download to complete so that I can start playing.

I guess in a sense it feels that way (like, if you've ever downloaded an image from the web and opened in in PS to use it as the source for a match-=colors job) but it's considerably more sophisticated than that since in the panel on the right you can modify any and all of the colors, and you can modify the tonal ranges to which they're applied, and you can modify the... you get the idea.

Nobody should just stop with the presets: WORK 'em! You can do some amazing stuff!

Downloaded it and... OMG. if you don't hear from me in a few days, send the intervention team...
