A different friend of mine is looking for a photog familiar with Indian weddings capable of doling out high quality product.
Budget is negotiable, and the photog should be able to fly out to texas ( i m sure they'll fly you out there if you impress em). I m looking for some high end samples from photogs here or those you might know personally.
Just starting a conversation, they have a couple of photogs in mind but are trying to get an idea of the full spectrum so they can make an informed choice |

who ever shoots it needs to get the scope of the event before giving a price. i was just talking to a friend of mine who shot an Indian wedding in nj where someone paid over $10,000 just to have an elephant brought up from atlanta for a 10-minute part of the service...he told me that if he'd known that ahead of time, there's no way he would have charged a little as he did to shoot the event...
just sayin ;-)

So Skip, you're saying that we need to always pay attention to "the elephant in the room?"

If you don't sniff out the details ahead of time the whole experience may take on the characteristics of a white elephant ... |

Its in Texas, but as i understand it, the right portfolio is worth flying someone (whos willing) over. |

Don't know what their budget is, but I've seen some AMAZING Indian wedding work(and general artsy-high quality wedding work) from Erik Clausen. He does a lot of work in Texas and California. One of my favorite wedding photographers in the area ;)

outdoor ceremony, indoor reception. Hindu wedding.
no more than 120 guests. looking for fun, modern, artistic shots. Full day coverage preferred. They do want some family shots - and they expect someone to cover both bride and groom getting ready.
Houston, Texas.
Venues not finalized yet - but definitely no elephants or anything. Relatively simple ( even asked the priest to tone it down to basics)
That should give a good enough scope no?
What i m looking for are suggestions (or a short intro and link to your own wedding port) so that we have a better idea of "whats out there"
Again, the budget is negotiable, but i imagine the photog has some sort of a price list they can start a conversation with. and if its not you, then you can suggest someone by samples of their work etc and we'll take things from there.
I really appreciate the input so far! |

When is the wedding? Depending on the schedule, Marge and I would like to meet the couple first. We provide a 2 camera shoot. Reference photos provided upon request.
eta: We live in NE Texas and can drive down. We are only about 5 hours from Houston.
