Check out Boat House Row and the Philadelphia Museum of Art if you want to stay in the city. If you have a car, Valley Forge Park is awesome right now. Tinicum (John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge) is near the Philly airport. That Scrapplefest sounds awesome! I might have to stop by there myself! Overall The Reading Terminal Market is a good spot for all types of photo ops.

Well, first, I had my camera plugged in to charge all the night before we went to Philly. But, when we got there the battery was stone cold dead. The reason we were in Philly was for a Friends Historical Association Meeting, so we bought a charger and let my camera charge while we were in the meeting.

So, unfortunately, I didn't get to take many pictures. We did get down by Boathouse Row. Unfortunately, my husband isn't as into just wandering around taking pictures as I am.

Philly

And all the pictures are straight out of camera. My copy of Photoshop is in my old computer and I just need to get it together to try and resurrect it.

Scrapple's AWESOME. I come from good Pennsylvania Deutsch on my mother's side, so I'm genetically inclined. Also, pancakes with sausage gravy, anyone? YUM!

The Eastern State Penitentiary is freaking awesome...Went in the afternoon...the light was wonderful...but I forgot my tripod at the hotel so I had to take my photos hand held...worked for some but not others...I could have spent hours here.

It's a museum now costs about $12 n change...well worth it...my husband wasn't really keen on the idea but later on...he said it was the best of our day there.

This is what I found....In mid-Sep that's what we paid...we did the self guided tour with headphones...which kind of worked...but they let you exchange them anytime...I had to change mine once and my husband had to change 2 times I think...still super interesting

Scrapple *IS* awesome. My GF lives right next to a butcher shop......I just picked up a couple of flatirons, and some scrapple.....YUM!!!

And though it is a misnomer, it's Pennsylvania Dutch.......been changed due to intellectual ignorance of origin. Beans & spaetzles (Actual German is spätzle) is another terrific Pennsylvania Dutch dish.!

Umm.....That'd be BISCUITS & sausage gravy.....tough to get good biscuits north of the Mason-Dixon line, though....

My wife went to Temple University for Grad school, and lived on Spring Garden, I always liked the food from Ishkabibbles on South Street.

ESP was well worth the cost of admission. Though I might recommend going when it's not colder than a witch's nose out!
