I know some groups had a week off and stuff, but to me it looks like things are getting REAL ;) GO Shady Sheep! :)

Semantics, as it doesn't influence the outcome in any way, but because I like to know ow the gears work, I'm wondering why in the match-up between the Shady Sheep and Quiet Riot, the first-place finishers ended in a tie?

Threshold was 2.94118.

Brennan: 100%
Beata: 97.0588%

Their spread: 2.9412, which is greater than the competition threshold of 2.94118. Obviously if you round the threshold you'll arrive at 2.9412, but on the surface it seems Brennan's just squeaked by if their percentages haven't already been rounded. What happens if you view their exact percentages to the same decimal place as the threshold?

Actually, just looking at that myself... why wasn't Beata's percentage 97.1429?

Sorry for the questions. Just trying to understand it.

At this point we've decided it's an error.

The only remaining question is if we fix it now, or later... (We're strongly leaning towards now)

I'm pretty much neutral if there is a tie or not because my team won anyway, but I'm wondering how often mistakes like that happen. Also, like bohemka I was wondering why I wasn't at 97.1429 but I thought I'd just leave it (I was thinking that maybe I was mistaken).
Thanks for helping me understand it bohemka :)

I guess Cory will update the scores soon (No difference in the team results).

Quick (mathematical) note about the 97.1429. That's the easy way to calculate percentiles, but would give the brown more than 0%. Current percentile calculations gives the blue 100%, the brown 0%. So the 97.0588% (sorry for all the digits, perhaps we need less) are correct. But you may convince me otherwise :)

Updated Results.

Both scores were from Vegetable Faces. How can you call it a draw, when there's a clear difference between first and second place. Threshold should not be an issue here.

If I'm reading Kroburg's question correctly, it's more of why were thresholds even in the equation when you have an apples to apples (same challenge) comparison to make?

ETA - I don't think it's an accusation BTW, more of an inquiry. :-)

Exactly (thank you glad2badad), sorry when my question was not clear in this, but this is my point indeed. I can understand the threshold factor for comparing the results of 2 different challenges, but here it was one and the same challenge. I know the results are updated, but I thought this was because of Bohemka's question concerning the actual differences in scores compared to the threshold value.

As I noted, it was an error. It has been fixed. :)

Now apples are apples and oranges remain oranges. :D
