Everyone,

Please join me in congratulating our jury selected winner, skewsme... The voting was a good race, but in the end, skewsme was still our winner even without a vote from Don.

Amazing work! Your 1 year DPC membership redemption code is on the way!

...

Please also join me in congratulating our five runner-ups - everyone turned in an amazing effort here - it was awesome seeing how each of you approached the image differently. I've awarded the first red and yellow editing ribbons to my personal favorites in the challenge.

- - sempermarine (my personal favorite! You get the red editing ribbon)
- - aliqui (my second favorite! You get the yellow editing ribbon)
- alfresco
- JuliBoc
- MNet

(PS. Comments from myself and the jury will be passed out soon, we're just busy. :) Forgive us!)

May I congratulate the winner as well as the runner-ups and thank Cory for having created the opportunity.

Get out of town!! Is this a joke?
I'm astounded... you could knock me over with a feather...
If it's not a joke, thank you! It was a fun challenge and very neat to see the different ways the image was edited. I fell in love with that dang hawk, have got to find one of my own now. Thank you Cory and Jury and congrats to all on the very fine edits produced!

I say, I say, This Cory-chappy is astoundingly innovative, and all over the place. like a rash.

Jolly good show, capital, capital!

Well done, skewsme, since you've explained so nicely how often men should do their part in the household, you've cornered all the womenfolk's votes by default, and the menfolk's vote by terror. Your first place was a certainty. Hehe.

ps. By sheer co-incidence, your image was my favourite as well. Really.

Congratulations to the winners! It's interesting to see different versions from the same original.

Excellent choice! Congrats Skewsme!

Yay! Congrats guys!

I agree with others, I hope we do this again, even if there are no rewards. I had fun looking at how each person approached the same image and had fun commenting on them. I was especially kicking myself over sempermarine's edit. Why didn't I think of the "moon-lit" idea?? I also loved the crazy edits toward the end with the extreme crops. Ya'll did not color in the lines growing up, that much is clear. :)

I'll probably be running a few more of these in the future.

I'm also considering using the awards in much the same way as Don does, to recognize excellence when I find it.

Yes! I don't know about the others, but I have two or three alternate edits myself I was considering ... any plan/place to post those?
