Has anyone else noticed something strange going on with stock submissions at iStock? Here are just two recent issues:

1. I uploaded a number of images that were PhotoShop-created, swirly-blurry abstracts. On these, I've received notices that these were being sent up for "executive review" because of concerns over copyright or trademark infringement. Really?

2. I submitted a series of images with a model (me). They've already accepted and sold images from the same series. My model release is based on the wording in their approved model release. Yet, they are holding off because the "release does not meet their legal standards."

Now, I'm not complaining because of any image rejections. They have the right to approve or reject as they see fit. But it does seem like their reviewers have lost the capacity of critical thinking. Have they outsourced the review process to a tribe of chimpanzees?
