In the last 2 months, I've noticed that I've managed to kill 10 threads, which, coincidentally is almost how many times I've posted. It makes me think that if I posted more, I could single handedly bring DPC to a screeching halt. I'm sure most don't realize the burden this puts on me having all this power and the pressure to use it only for good. It's the same when I shop at Costco or the supermarket... I get to be the cart that they put the "This Lane is Closed" sign on. Yes, it's a heavy burden... but, I should consider myself lucky. At least I'm not the guy behind me at the store. :D

You can play in the 'Last Wins' thread. That game might get stuck for a couple of days, but I don't think it will ever end. (Ditto for Whattheheckisit.)

On the upside, if you do kill the 'Last Wins' thread it means YOU WIN!

Well, just to make sure that your new thread didn't die at birth, I'll take the risk that I am the one to kill it. (Btw, I already have a fair count of kills myself.)

I'm reluctant to add that I've, uh, also killed a few...
04/26/2014 07:15:45 AM · #9
But not this one. (At least not yet.)

Glad I am not the only "thread killer" on the forums lmao!

Oh and you're not fully accomplished until you actually start a thread and it kills itself! Nothing like being the first, the one and the only!

I've a couple of those. Nothing quite like watching your post slide slowly off the front page.....like watching a paper sailboat sinking

and then you hope that no one has noticed...

Ok, enough. I'm back to demonstrate how it's done, so pay attention...

or not. Maybe I'll wait a few more postings. LOL!

Yea, if I start a thread and kill it in the same post, I always hide the evidence. That's why I rarely start a thread... it's much better to be someone that finishes it, than starts it. And it is good to see that there are others that know how to put a stop to a thread as well. Nobody hates to finish alone. :D

I seem to remember that once upon a time - for a short while - one of our personal site statistics showed how many threads we KILLED.

Anybody (with more than ten threads created) with a better Posts/Threads Created ratio? :-)

Ah, yes. We are old timers. I also remember those stats.

I have a soft spot for threads that no one replies to. I often feel like it's then my duty as a human being to make sure that person knows that people care, even if it is just me.

What sort of prize do I get for killing the "Killing Threads" thread?
04/30/2014 11:16:47 AM · #24
hahahah! ITs ok, it seems i have been doing it lately myself, can we have our own support group?

The threads aren't really dead...sooner or later, they'll be reanimated as zombies, often by spammers.
