What are your list of pet peeves? Just wanted to do something for fun for the hellva of it

I have to have a clean bathroom and kitchen.. with my step son home now from job corp (so not used to him being home), he drives me insane and leaves hair everywhere... I am about to ban him from our bathroom, never cleans up after he shaves or showers from clothes, if I have to clean up one more time I think I may be getting the shovel out LOL

Other pet peeves not so much, but the internet slang of "just sayn'" gets to me too, I will never understand that one..
people said it, then they add.. just sayn... well duh, you just did LOL
Other internet things- The Duck Face... what is up with that anyway>? People think they are cute or sexy.. just makes ppl look like a an old ogre LOL

Unfortunately, I do not have the pet peeve of good grammar or the English language, and I am so sorry for those here that are..Not that I want to be bad at it, or the fact I don't care, I do. I also know I am the worst offender at it and talking backwards doesn't help either.
I try, I think my fingers type faster than my brain can think. LOL

People who swear like 50 times in 1 sentence, yeah, like, do they not know how to communicate?

Bad cell phone use- especially in restaurants or stores..seriously? it is that important .. or your with your friends and they NEVER answer a text or call from you, but when you are with them, they are consistently texting or calling others..I think manners have fallen badly.

Form Without Enough Space for Answers

People who take advantage of others or use them for their own benefit- to be said enough..

Other things I left out?

GO

People who say 'and like' all the time

'...and like she said...and like he said....and like we did this...' blah blah blah

Pro-gun people. More guns in more hands won't solve the problem.
05/22/2014 08:31:24 PM · #7
All the anonymous people who have somehow made it to adulthood without learning how to flush a toilet.
05/22/2014 09:29:30 PM · #8
Misuse of the English language. I find the constant abuse of the word 'of' (as in 'should of', 'could of', 'would of') to be particularly abhorrent and said misuse simply makes you sound stupid.

And, like literally, people who don't swear anywhere like near enough, particularly when flushing the toilet with a gun.

I was thinking about this today as I was driving home from the grocery store - these things just drive me nuts!!!

jaywalkers
people who park in the fire lanes (because they're just going to be there a second)
people who park in the wheelchair spots without a permit (because they're just going to be there a second)
people who stop in the middle of the doorway in stores blocking others from going in or out
people who go in through the out door
drivers who can't drive between the lines and come into my lane
drivers who run red lights
drivers who sit at green lights and don't go, holding up traffic

people who have no consideration for others, who think and act as if they're the only people in the world

Given that all unstressed English vowels sound remarkably alike (the "schwa" in pronunciation guides), it is possible that what (some) people are attempting to enunciate are the quite proper contractions "could've", "would've", "should've", etc., now reduced to the slang form coulda-woulda-shoulda (usually sounded as a single word).

One of mine might be people who insist on placing all punctuation inside the quotation marks even when it makes more sense to have them outside ...

Another, to paraphrase Al Gore, Sr.: people who speak so much more clearly than they think.

To add to your list:
• people who tailgate in the slow lane, making it impossible for drivers on the on-ramp to merge smoothly
• people entering the highway who don't use the on-ramp to accelerate to highway speed to merge smoothly
• drivers who cruise up the "Exit Only" lane and then merge through the gore point back into through traffic to gain 12 car-lengths

I'm positive that is what they are attempting. Surely it is not so difficult, particularly once it has been pointed out, to use the correct contraction? Pet peeve indeed.

And another pet peeve - all the false information and crap that people spread on Facebook. Like share this picture to win money, or share this picture to give a little girl an operation. As if sharing a picture on facebook is going to make a difference!!!
