We learned our alphabets in school, but how often do we get to use them in photography? After the last few days, I have noticed a lot of objects that look like letters..

I would love to suggest to start a side challenge, I am not sure if we are allowed to start one ourselves or if it has to go through counsel, or how the proper method goes, but my idea is this..please forgive me if I am doing this wrong or the wrong way, please let me know what the proper procedures are for these...

A-Z Photography Challenge will start each week by starting with each letter of the alphabet and moving up through Z.. so starting this week we do the letter A... we take photographs of things that looks like that particular letter of the alphabet..
Can be any anything.

The following week we will move and shoot things that look like B and so forth..

Something off the cuff and I thought this may be fun to do
Thoughts?

The fact that there was a challenge has nothing to do with a side challenge. You can have any side challenge you want -- and you can start it yourself. All you need is people to join in! Paul was probably just showing you an example of what has been done.

That being said, I probably won't have time because of TPL this time around. But if you're still interested, go for it!

It could still happen as a challenge, we have many II's, III's, IV's, etc...

Maybe this will be something after TPL is all completed and done with as a side challenge because right now, I am even concentrating on TPL and its harder than I thought it would be.. I think it might be more fun with it being continued with each week having its own letter instead of just one regular challenge for one time.

Apologies I didn't mean to indicate there was a problem with your suggestion - just pointing you in the direction of something similar that may prove inspirational. Go for it!

Another alphabet-related activity from the past was a project where people signed up to submit a shot for a particular letter, and one hard-working member assembled it into a poster which any of the participants could print/sell/whatever ...

No print project like those two.

There have been several number-related challenges ... but I can't remember any specific number being the subject of a challenge. If you look at the Challenge History (under the Challenges menu) you can search for previous topics to see if they've been used. You can also search the Challenge Suggestions forums to see what's been proposed ...

Check out the alphabet collage cited in this article -- it's a good example of another version of this idea.
