Welcome back!

The earlier outage was due to a power failure at the data center that hosts the DPC servers.

Thanks for your patience!

I don't care if there was a power failure. I paid $25 for my subscription to this site and I don't take too kindly to getting screwed out of being able to access it.

I hate to say it, but any more of this and I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Sheesh! I obviously don't use enough parenthesis, colons and semi-colons!

;-)

I'm glad I came back to check on this thread...I was completely kidding!

Dude, your original post didn't have an *ounce* of sarcastic humor to it.. so it's no surprise. In a medium like this, you pretty much have to say "JUST KIDDING" as loud as possible.

Brad was the only one who had responded...I figured he would understand I was being a jack-ass!

We'll get to know each other soon enough, everyone!

Edit: but I agree...there are real people who actually do respond that way...apologies!

Really, it's pretty lame for a hoster not to have redundant utilities (power, connectivity). If this were a for-profit site, or one people depend on, I'd suggest moving to a better provider.

Wait,... it is for-profit, and peopel do depend on it.

Thank God!

I had to work while the site was down!... it was a horrible experience ... don't do this again OK?

I've been bitten by this many times. One solution is the proper use of the [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags or [joke][/joke] tags. Unfortunately, those don't work for people who have turned off their [humor][/humor] in the default styles dialog.

That tag was depricated in favor of the following CSS property:

Ironically, I often get the exact same reactions from people who don't know me well in real-life situations as well...so I guess I haven't learned to master real-life smilies either!

Darn.

ohhh...wait, i meant [sarcasm]Darn.[/sarcasm]

Is there any way to leave it on permanently? ;0)

Cool, that even works when you don't have anything in a challenge. I may not need to enter anymore now that I have that. ;)

Needs a random number generator so when you click submit it will just create a number for people to obsess over and post.

As long as it's a random number between 6.5 and 8.5, that would make me feel good.
