About 10 PM tonight DPC will go offline for (hopefully) 15-30 minutes for site maintenance. When we come back online, be prepared for a BIG surprise!

I think I can guess the surprise. Not the exact surprise, but it's purpose, at least.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Given that the front page is still showing forum posts from 11am yesterday (site not so active recently) it will be interesting to see how many people are "surprised". :-D

Fingers crossed.

Given that he capitalized BIG, I'm betting on a dimension limit increase. That would be nice.

How long after the changes are up, that the first thread complaining about it go up? Anyone want to start a pool?

Probably too soon.

Let's be honest, no matter what is ever done in the interest of good for the site, someone is going to be unhappy, it's human nature. Changes made, or changes not made always rubs someone crack raw.

That's pretty amazing. We haven't even MADE the change yet, and already people are talking about how much complaining there will be :-) Gotta love DPC!

Rules at a Glance
The following is a quick view of the challenge rules. These may be overriden if specified in the 'extra rules' section of the challenge.
File Format: JPEG
File Size: 300 kB or less.
Dimension: No dimension may be shorter than 160 pixels or longer than pixels.
Exposure Date: Your entry must be taken within the submission dates for the challenge.

With no rules we'd be able to suspend people whenever we feel like it ...?

I'm more concerned about the fact that 10:00 is usually when I'm shooting my shot for the challenge. If it stays down, I might not get a shot in.

I wonder if I should start at 8pm instead. OMG!! Such hard decisions!!! ;P
