I've decided to not continue the "Member of the Week" posting.

My membership has just expired and I'm not renewing. It has nothing to do with the site, the people or the photos. But for most of this year I've only been entering the free studies. I rarely come here except to post the Member of the Week thread & I stopped voting on most challenges in September.

I'm not sure what caused me to lose interest in DPC but I suppose no one stays around forever. My photography, website and photo-of-the-day blog are still going strong. Who knows, I may renew my membership sometime in the future but for now I'll just peek in from time to time, maybe an open challenge will catch my eye.

I've enjoyed sharing the profiles different members since 2008 and I hope you've enjoyed it as well. There are so many fantastic photographers here, I hope you are all proud of your accomplishments.

Take care,
Karen

I've been so impressed with your commitment to starting a "Member of the Week" thread each week. It's been a wonderful gift to the site and its members. Thank you, and enjoy all your other photography activities.

Thanks Karen, I know you have made many people happy by highlighting them for a week and I often have stopped to see some photos from highlighted profiles that I would have missed if not for your thread. Both you and the thread will be missed, thanks again!

Thank you, Karen. I've always admired your technical prowess and professional execution, and you've shared a lot with many.

Despite your numerous impressive challenge submissions and achievements, however, I think this member of the week idea has been your greatest contribution to the DPC community.

I echo Brian's (and other's) hope that your departure won't mean the end of this.

But regardless of all of that, thank you for being such a tremendous member of the community here. All the best to you.

Thanks for everything you've put into the site Karen. I think the Member of the Week series was a great idea to allow people to look deeper at peoples photography.
