i'm noticing this a lot in the best of 2015.

all the landscape image load on my screen large and the same size and then when its finished loading quite a few resize smaller and some stay larger. just wondering why that is?

I noticed that too. I have no idea why it happens.

I think pictures which are large but under the size limit stay the same size, while those larger get dynamically resized.

Or it may just be a bug in the resizing algorithm which was installed when we upsized the entries, to "help" people with smaller monitors.

If you really want a real answer you can submit an Administrative ticket with the detailed information and Langdon can investigate.

What's the resolution of your monitor, and how big is your browser window? The max long edge is 1200 pixels now, so if the photos are in portrait orientation, and your screen is less than 1200 pixels high, they will be dynamically resized, I think.

I've just done some playing around, and resizing seems to be working flawlessly on Win7-64 and Chrome 39.0.2171.95 m. I tried making my browser window smaller and they still resize as they should to the smaller window.

i thought it was all due to how the browser is set up... and which device you are using. i get different "resizin" on my desktop vs.on my ipad (and in portrait vs. landscape rotation of ipad), i think b/c the browser is trying to make the image fit the screen.

if I open my image through "my submissions" it's open in the real size, 1200X800. If I open like I would vote it's open smaller. I'm using the same computer (MacBook Pro very old)
Can someone explain this?

The resizing was on purpose to account for entries larger than a given monitor can display. It was implemented along with the upgrade to the 1200 pixel limit recently. I've noticed that the resizing only works in challenges and when previewing one's challenge entry. Afterwards, it is displayed at 1:1.

my screen res is 1920x1080.

it just seems inconsistent that some images would resize and others wont, considering they all load at what appear to be the native resolution.
