I hope I can articulate this correctly. When editing a lot of photos, LR annoys me because it takes the edited version of the raw I am working on and when I am done with my edits in PS it takes the edited version and displays at the end of all the raws and then I have to scroll all the way back to where I was to get to the next raw in the list (in this case, 300 pictures) Is tehre a way I can stop it from doing this?

Probably by setting your sorting preferences to NOT include "image type", but that's just a stab in the dark... I know I can set up Bridge to sort all the RAWS first then the JPGs next and so forth, and then PSDs would show up far away from the RAWS in the thumbs...

Sort by name rather than date/time?

It's likely the sort order, but even when you have the sort order set to Name if you're working in the Latest Import grouping (the default after you bring in a new set of images) then new images created will always sort to the end until you go to the left panel in the Library module and select the folder or collection that you've placed the image in.

Check your image group settings. I am set up so that all images derived from the original raw are grouped together in a stack.

im sure he is too, whats happening is when you "edit in" another program, when you get back to lightroom after you save and create the .psd or .tif, ligtroom throws the stack at the end of the order. its never bothered me enough to care to change it, but after some looking i'm not sure its possible.

This does not happen to me if my library is pointed to the folder containing the image. If I am working the Previous Import portion of the catalog then, and only then, does it pop to the bottom of the stack when it returns from an external editor.
