Has anyone ever used the Enlight App to edit a photo and enter it into a challenge?

Be very careful!!!! I recently used a picture from my iPhone and almost got Dq'd!!!

First off I didn't make a copy of the original before I did any editing. I moved my picture over to Snapseed applying some filters then moved to lr and on to PsCC.

When I edited my picture in Snapseed it changed my EXIF file...lucky for me I was home at the time I took the picture. Turns out I had 2 copies of the original on Dropbox and OneDrive. I have both programs setup to backup my pictures from my phone whenever I'm home/on wi-fi.

Bottom line....make a copy first.

Ja-9 speaks wisely. It's always safest to do your editing on your computer, on a copy, like you would with a "normal" camera, but IF you want to do Snapseed, Enlight, any of the 3rd-party apps, do whatever you have to do to save an unedited copy before you do. You can accomplish this by mailing one to yourself, actually, or at least that has worked for me. THEN, after securing a clean original, knock yourself out; you'll be judged by the usual editing rules.

On another site, we have been having problems where images edited on iOS devices are stripped of EXIF data on upload. This is evidently now by design as a response by Apple to security fears of leaving info such as GPS coordinates, in the EXIF.

You either have to connect the device to a computer, or use an app like DropBox, to get an unmolested image off your device.

So mailing it to yourself doesn't work anymore? And how is that different than Dropbox?
