You know this will give ideas to some members.

Yes, I'm talking about you, Cory.

In one of the episodes of How We Got To Now Stephen Jphnson discusses how the new-found ability to take flash photos in New York tenements helped Jacob Riis spark a revolution in public health and social welfare policy.

Not quite as bad, but it reminds me that I had to use flash cubes on my first camera.

OMG I dig it I really dig it! That video is ACE!

They also made a 'flip flash' which you had to turn over to get the second five out of tenflashes! www.flickr.com/photos/heritagefutures/4588058056/in/pool-camerawiki

I never used that one. By the time I "upgraded" to a 110 cartridge camera, I was lucky enough to have a built in flash.

I'm old enough to remember the individual bulbs, but the were small by then. I have acquired some larger historic bulbs. The largest was used for aerial reconnaissance during WWII. I think it could pass for a small thermonuclear device. They are massive!

Those ideas have been in place for years my friend. ;-)

Frankly, the idea of large scale flash photography is attractive to me, I'm just not sure what I want to do with it. :-D

I had the square Kodak 126....with an extension for the flash cube, lol! (Plastic stick for all practical purposes.)
