On the 1st of October, we had a mini-GTG in Seattle. Dr.Confuser, Cuttooth, and a friend spent a day shooting Seattle from most all the standard sites. Smardaz planned to join us but ended up too sick to enjoy it.

Here's a link to some photos from the day.

[sarcasm]As you can see, it is always humid, cold and rainy here in Seattle. The traffic is horrible thanks to our bike friendly mayor. The people are unfriendly. We swim laps in gigantic cups of latte. Our tech centric population does nothing but stare at their smart phones. Housing prices are among the highest on the west coast. You've been warned ... you will hate it here. Stay away! [/sarcasm]

Sweet. I always liked the touristy stuff in Seattle.

So how come I still miss Renton/Seattle so much after 6 years back in Australia? *sigh*

Cool! Great to see DPCers getting together. I so miss the LA GTGs; the crew out there was a lot of fun. As of this week I now have a nephew in Seattle, so without a doubt a trip to Seattle is in my future.

Let me know when you're coming. With a little notice, I'm sure we can round up a GTG around your visit.

We had a fantastic time! Thanks for showing us around and seeing some of the non-touristy spots and pointing us in the direction of some delicious food. It was my first visit to Seattle, it's a great city.

I'm so far behind on going through my shots (except for the one I entered in "Profile") but I'll post a link here when I do.

Did you go to the Daily Dozen in Pike Place and get some mini donuts?

Does Bear_Music shoot in the woods? :)

Actually, don't know if Robert shoots in the woods but yes, Got a half dozen mini donuts the first morning we were there, they were delicious!

If I ever get to Seattle I wanna do the underground tour! Love stuff like that.

ETA: Actually Bear_Music, at least when I visited last fall, shot a lot out in the open and on shores...just sayin ;-)

Apparently, the trees are made of some sort of metal there!

I'm embarrassed to say that I've been to Seattle a half a dozen times and have no pictures to show for it. Always went for work and it was during my non-photography phase (and mostly pre-digital).

I have to get back there sometime, with a camera!

As a grad of Seattle Pacific University (North side of Queen Anne Hill), and still having relatives in the area, I am very fond of the city. Yes, it has changed a lot in the last 35 years, but I thoroughly enjoyed shooting on my last visit (Oct 2014). There is so much, but I especially enjoyed shooting the Seattle Center EMP , and the sea planes taking off and landing on Lake Union. Mt. Rainier is always a challenge, but sometimes she cooperates. This is Mt. Baker, which is further North .
