Hello All

I was wondering if anyone with the EM1 has had an issue where they turn the camera on but get a black screen on startup, I'm pretty sure it has to be a fault with the camera and not a setting I have changed but thought I would ask just in case.

It only happens every so often and nothing will show up on either the LCD or EVF, pushing buttons doesn't seem to help either, if I turn it off and back on a couple of times it seems to fix the issue and if I take the battery out and put it back in it will sometimes help.

Battery is fully charged in most cases where it happens and camera is only 6 months old.

I have had this happen a few times with my EM1 but a simple turn off/on cycle always corrects it. I am not really worried about it personally. You may have better luck getting an answer on a forum dedicated to µ4/3 cameras like Here

Thanks Ronnie

Will pop over there and ask around, glad I'm not the only one it has been happening to.

Wondering if the 4.0 firmware might fix it.

It could, who knows what is in it that they don't mention. I cannot wait for firmware 4 to come. My macro lens is going to get glued to my EM1 for a month.

It certainly is a great firmware update, I was going to downsize with the EM1 when I sold all my Nikon gear and stick with one or two lenses but I think I'm going to have to buy one more lens now, the 60mm.

I love the 60 macro, personally I think it the best macro lens I have ever used. Prior I had the Canon 100mm L and I also have the Lester Dine 105mm macro that I absolutely love but have not used since getting the Oly 60mm. Right now I am waiting for that damn 300mm ƒ4.0 Pro lens to come out. After that I want to get the 7-14 Pro and 8mm Fisheye.

When I win the lotto I will look at more Pro lenses, I'm sure the 60mm will be a great buy though and it's a great price.
