Nikon wants at least $325 to fix it, and it seems like I can buy 'em on eBay for that fairly easily. I replaced it with a refurb for $500 on the D7000 LoVi uses, so I'm not gonna fix it.

I'll pay standard ground, uninsured UPS to someone in the lower 48 who will either fix it, or use it in some kind of art project.

I just can't throw it in the trash! LOL!!!

Tell us *how* it's broken? What's not working, missing, cracked, whatever?

On the camera when it was dropped, so it's all tangled up inside and won't move.

Aw crap...even mine after took a polo ball head-on (the lenshood just EXPLODED) and the AF was effed up, I was still able to use it with the D90 though knew I was risking every 4th or 5th image in a burst being a total mess. Then I got the D7100 and the ol' warhorse could no longer keep up...til I dropped $350 CDN (what, $200 USD?) to get it fixed. It's still a little tight to zoom out, but as it's basically my dedicated rodeo lens, I don't mind. And it's still a great walkaround lens.

I get all that, but I bought a refurb for the D7000 that my GF uses. I am not intertested in repairing it for a spare.

My personal bodies are FF so I have no use for this core lens.

I'll trash it if no one wants it.

if no one is taking, send me and I will try to fix it and if I am able to then mail it back to you :)

I fixed my canon 17-85 which fall in same situation and all internal components were moved left and right.

I will ping you address.

If you fix it, then pass it along to another DPCer. I replaced it and it would just sit.

I await your shipping addy....
